Puppy Preschool

18th February 2019

We now run puppy pre-school classes here at the Cape Veterinary Clinic!

It is a 3 week course, and has a variety of content including:

  • General handling,
  • Clicker training,
  • Advice on lead walking,
  • Jumping up,
  • Puppy biting
  • Controlled toy play
  • Toilet training advice
  • Nutrition advice
  • Sickness and Diarrhoea - when to worry?
  • Tooth brushing and dental care.
  • Controlled social interaction

The classes are run by our Receptionist Annie, and our Head Nurse Sam. Annie has a degree in Applied Animal Behaviour, and is registered with ADPT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), and has been training dogs for 7 years. Sam is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has always had a keen interest in Animal Behaviour.

Another big goal is trying to create a positive association with the vets for your puppy's future visits. We know that puppies that have a positive experience at the vets, love to come to visit in the future!

Please contact us for more information on when the next class is due to start, and prices.

You do not have to be registered with us as a client to attend.
